A.I.A (Agger In Action)

After an impressive start to their Euro 2012 campaign against the Netherlands, the Danes fought back from two goals down against the Portuguese to level the game thanks to goals from Nicklas Bendtner.

However, a late strike from Silvestre Varela clinched a vital three points for Portugal.

Pepe powered a header past Stephan Andersen to give them the lead on 25 minutes before Helder Postiga side-footed into the roof of the Denmark net for 2-0.
The Danes were given a lifeline when Michael Krohn-Dehli sprung the offside trap to cushion a header across the face of goal for Bendtner to nod into an empty net and halve the deficit.

Agger was called into action on the hour mark, making a fine sliding tackle on Postiga after Cristiano Ronaldo picked him out. Denmark pressed in search of an equaliser throughout the second half and on 72 minutes, the skipper sprayed a pin-point, 50-yard pass into Bendtner who controlled but shot wide.
Then, with 10 minutes remaining, Bendtner levelled the tie. The forward peeled away from the last defender and powered a header inside the near post to make it 2-2.

But with four minutes of normal time remaining, substitute Varela was on hand to smash home Portugal's winner.
